Having rented from this company for about a year and a half, we had our first beautiful old apartment on Broadway and then downsized to a quaint little spot on Chapin park, both a very pleasant experience. Any issues at all were addressed quickly, and sufficiently and we were well care for. Nice neighbors, walking and biking distance to most of town. Over the last 15 years, my job has moved my wife and I literally around this beautiful country. I can say without hesitation that our experience with Rob and Tim at Maine Real Estate Management was second to none. We needed a short term rental (7 months) and they were able to find a property in the downtown area that was more than suitable for our needs. They were very prompt getting minor repairs done prior to move in and also during our stay. They never left us out hanging to dry. Their response time and attention to detail was always in our best interest and to serve our needs. They always made it comfortable to just pick up the phone and call when an issue surfaced. This "outfit" assumed control of a storage unit facility I have rented at for the better part of 8 years. On taking over control, Maine Real Estate Management immediately padlocked all of the units, effectively denying access, for no legitimate reason. I've been 3 weeks sorting this out with them and as of this writing the unit is still locked. 2 weeks ago we showed them the proof that the account was current, they said we were all set and the unit would be unlocked, now they are saying they need to see the proof again. It should be noted that Maine State Law only allows them to deny access to my unit if I am in default, and they have placed a lien on the contents and provided written notification directly to me. When this was pointed out to them it became clear that they don't care about the laws. This company seems to have a major problem getting it's act together and has demonstrated complete disregard for it's renters and the law. I'll be avoiding doing business with them in the future
